The gondola: hours, seasons, and dinner in town

How the free ride shapes your evenings, and when to confirm dates.

The gondola between Mountain Village and Telluride is free, scenic, and central to how a week at this address feels. It turns downtown dinners into an easy evening out, and in summer it is also a clean way to reach mid-mountain trailheads.

In peak winter and summer it typically runs late enough for a full night in town. Service usually pauses mid-October and returns around Thanksgiving. Current operating dates and hours are published by the Town of Mountain Village. We are happy to help you read those against your dinner and trail plans.

Inside Mountain Village, Dial-a-Ride covers a lot of short trips. For downtown, the gondola is the signature connection.

Shoulder weeks around those seasonal transitions can be wonderful for quiet trails, fireplaces, and a slower pace. Ask us when you inquire and we will match your evenings to how the mountain is running that week.
